Greetings! My name is Angelique Walker. I am excited to be entering my 17th year as an educator. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development, a Master of Arts degree in Education, and an endorsement in Special Education. I am very happy to work with all of my amazing students and wonderful faculty and staff at SIS! This is sure to be a spectacular year!

Hello Parents! My name is Angelique Walker, and I am the self-contained special education teacher at SIS. I am very excited to have your child in my classroom this year! We have a lot of wonderful activities and learning opportunities planned.

I want to share a little about myself. I graduated from Christian Brothers University with a degree in Human Development and became licensed in teaching grades K-8. I received my Master of Arts in Teaching from Grand Canyon University and have an endorsement in Special Education. This will be my 17th year as an educator. I taught in the general education classroom for 14 years and this will be my 3rd year in special education. I have 4 daughters ages 25, 15, 11, and 9 years old. My youngest has autism with developmental delay and Tourettes Syndrome. She amazes me every day and I have learned so much from her! I know what it feels like to have a non-verbal child that you have to send to school all day. It is worrisome and can be terrifying to the child and parent. I also know how it feels to have wonderful teachers that make you feel like you can go to work and not worry about your child all day. It is my mission and goal to be that teacher and that blessing for you! I promise that your child will be loved, cared for, and as happy as possible while he or she is with me.

We have two assistants this year. Mrs Charmane and Mrs Williams. They love children and they always add joy to our day! Please send a snack to school with your child every day. It is also important to keep a change of clothes at school in case of spills or accidents. We are always in need of tissues, wipes, hand sanitizer, and pencils. My phone rarely has a signal in the building, but I check my messages frequently. Please feel free to call or text me with any needs or concerns. I am grateful for this blessing and opportunity to work with you and your child this year!
