MAT, Tulane University.  ESL/Bilingual Education (also, Anthropology, Linguistics, English)

MA, University of Mississippi.  Spanish

My first teaching job was in Guayaquil, Ecuador where I taught EFL at the Colegio Americano.  I wasn't much older than my students!  When I returned to the US I earned a MAT from Tulane and moved to China where I taught English to undergraduates at the Zhongnan University of Economics and Finance for a year.  Moving from China, I accepted a position at the Instituto de Estudios Americanos in Barcelona, Spain.  I taught all ages EFL in that beautiful city for nine years.

I returned to the US in 1997 and started teaching Spanish I & II at my Alma Mater, Hernando High School.  I loved teaching Spanish so much that I started studying it again and after earning my Masters, I was hired at Northwest CC/DeSoto Center where I taught until I moved to the UK in 2008.

Again returning to the US, I began teaching ELs at DCS which I still enjoy doing very much at SIS.
