Subjects Taught
4th Grade Spotlight

I graduated from The University of Mississippi with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, then took on My Master’s in Education so that I could teach. I began my work in education 2005 and has become an intracule part of who I am today. I taught as and assistant for a 1st grade class the first year that I taught, and since then have been a general education teacher for 4th and 5th grade students. I received my National Board Certification in 2012, and then received recognition as SIS Teacher of the Year in 2013. When the opportunity to teach Gifted Students came my way, I couldn’t have been more excited. I have found where my heart soars as a Teacher. I want to do everything in my power to be sure that my students learn to accept failure, grow as CONFIDENT leaders who can be compassionate to other’s ideas and opinions, and teach them to be critical & Creative thinkers

My husband and I have two, young red-headed kiddos who attend DeSoto County Schools. We also have a child that we sponsor in LaCieba, Honduras. We get to visit and spend time with him occasionally as if he were our own. We are pet lovers who have adopted 2 dogs, JoJo & CoCo, and 1 cat, Leo. We attend and serve at SouthPoint Church in Southaven. We love to serve the community with our SouthPoint family. I also, with the help of my family and many others, run a non-profit organization, Hunger2Hope. We have been blessed to connect with so many in the community who want to serve students and their families of Hunger2Hope.
