Jennifer Stripling, Principal
Jennifer Stripling is a former graduate of Hernando High School. She has a degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Health and Human Performance and a Master’s of Science in Education. During her time at the University of Tennessee at Martin, she was a graduate assistant in the education department and softball team.
Jennifer Stripling started her teaching and coaching career at Horn Lake High School. She taught health for five years and was the head softball coach. She then continued her education at Delta State University through the Ed leadership cohort program. She received an additional Master’s of Education in Administration.
Mrs. Loren Nelson, Asst. Principal
Loren Nelson is excited to be a member of the leadership team at Southaven Intermediate School. She is beginning her 25th year in education and looks forward to working with your children on their educational journey.
In 1993, she graduated from Delta State University with a degree in Elementary Education. In 2005, she became a National Board-Certified Teacher and later completed her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University in 2016. Over the past 24 years, she has taught in Horn Lake, Olive Branch, Center Hill, Memphis, and Southaven.
Mrs. Nelson is married to Kirk Nelson, and they have three sons, Seth (27), Jake (23), and Taylor (20). Their sons and their daughter-in-law, Chelsea, all graduated from Center Hill High School.
Mrs. April Rucker, Asst. Principal
Before becoming an Assistant Principal at Southaven Intermediate School, April Rucker received her Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Mississippi, and later, her Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. Mrs. Rucker began her career as a teacher at Southaven Middle School, and she worked as a teacher and basketball coach at DeSoto Central Middle School. She is well-rounded in the field of education and desires to invoke true passion for teaching and learning.
Mrs. Rucker is married to Laveil Rucker, and they have three daughters, Tylah, India and Zion and three sons Kevin, Isaiah and Caleb.
