My name is Laura Booher and I am so excited to begin my counseling career at Southaven Intermediate School! I am no stranger to SIS though, I have been an EL teacher here for the last 4 years! I am so happy to call this school home!

I graduated from Mississippi State University with my bachelor's in Marketing and the French language and I graduated in May from Arkansas State University with my master's in Professional School Counseling.

In my free time I love to read, travel with my husband, and spend time with our cat and dog

Mrs. Crocker-Miliara has been one of the school counselors at Southaven Intermediate School for several years now. She received her master's degree in school counseling at the University of Memphis.

She is a proud Christian and an animal rights advocate. Her motto for school counseling is that every student deserves to feel loved, encouraged, and supported in the academic environment. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her husband and friends.

What does a School Counselor Do?

Each morning, students see their school counselors talking about social emotional learning as well as the core essential of the month. The school counselors also visit with students individually, in groups, and in their classes to talk about any issues they might be having or to introduce a number of topics including conflict resolution, college and career readiness, and goal setting. We love getting to know our students while also helping them grow and learn!
