I graduated from W.P. Daniel High School in 2002. I continued my education at the University of Mississippi, where I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education.
I am from small town New Albany, MS. Growing up, my favorite past time was reading and playing outdoors. Not much has changed. I still enjoy getting lost in a story and spending the day at a ball field.
My husband and I have two children, Lilly and Zeke. Lilly is my animal loving, free spirited little girl who dreams of one day becoming a veterinarian. Zeke is my ball player who has yet to find a sport he doesn't like. Our family loves to camp, hike, and play board games.
As a child, I loved going to school! Learning new things has always been very rewarding to me. Teaching has allowed me the opportunity to share my love of learning and grow in my own knowledge as well.
One of my goals as an educator is to inspire students to read, not only to learn, but also for fun! Perhaps more important, I teach children to listen and respect one another's thinking and ideas. I strive to create a learning environment that makes all students feel equally accepted and loved by their teacher and classmates.
I am very happy to be a part of a dedicated team of teachers and administrators here at SIS. I am looking forward to another incredible year!
